Objectives/Plan for 2013-14

 

 

Objective 1: To consider reducing the number of pre-bookable appointments on-line from 2 to 1 per patient

 

Action 1  - A new clinical system commencing April 2013 may provide a solution if indeed there is one.

Action 2  - Run audit report to assess number of patients booking appointments on-line missing/not attending appointments

 

Objective 2: To reduce the number of patients not attending their pre-booked appointment

 

Action 1 -  to continue to closely monitor those not attending and removing from our list at an agreed stage

Action 2 -  GP’s to phone patients not attending during the missed appointment slot

Action 3   - to look at process of emailing appointment reminders as an additional alternative to text messages

Action 4   - Continue to sign all new patients up for text message reminder

Action 5 -  Inform all patients of numbers not attending appointments via Newsletters, website and media screen

 

Objective 3:To look at ways of ensuring the telephone is answered promptly during the day

 

Action 1   -Enquire availability of new telephone monitoring tool and assess effectiveness/cost

Action 2 - Revisit staff work rota to ensure sufficient telephone cover at all times
